ARTIST STATEMENT

My practice explores the porous boundary between text and image, where each collage becomes an interplay of form, meaning, and perception. Through a process of assembling fragments, I seek to create compositions that reflect the perceptions of the world, agency, everydayness, and the multiplicities of identities.
The integration of text within these works is not ornamental but structural: words function as both visual texture and semantic anchors, inviting viewers to a plural reading, where text can become texture. This layered approach transforms each collage into a space of dialogue, encouraging a dynamic interaction between the artwork and the observer.By recontextualizing fragments of the everyday into visual compositions, I seek to disrupt linear narratives and offer alternative ways of seeing and understanding where words and images respond to, contradict, and complement each other. Each work is an epistemological experience, where personal experiences meet the everyday through a layered visual language.

ARTIST BIO

I live and work between Paris and Istanbul as a translator, “time regulator” and researcher. Inspired by surrealism and pop culture, my collage works explore the boundary between text and image. Through my collages, I recontextualize the everyday, transforming fragments of life and words into visual and poetic compositions.
As a translator, words are an integral part of my formation and worldview. This deep connection to language informs my artistic practice; I am drawn to the interplay of text and image, where words are not just annotations but integral visual elements. In my collages, phrases and fragments of text intertwine with visual textures to create dynamic, layered compositions that invite viewers into a space where reading and seeing converge.
