ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist, Kaitlin believes that art should be tangible, accessible, and arouse introspection, contemplation and subjective interpretation. She does not believe in a right or wrong understanding of art, rather, with their unique and varied experiences, each viewer has an equally valid translation of the work; everything is open to interpretation. Her work is almost exclusively analog and often combines literary aspects, whether it be philosophical, theoretical, fictional texts, or her own words, to explore themes such as morality, relational ties, memory loss, personal histories, conditional love, feminism, nature, meaninglessness, motherhood, and mortality.
