ARTIST STATEMENT
Pour faire un collage, j’ai besoin de contraintes. Cela peut-être le format, l’échéance, le thème, un challenge. Tout débute par une image ou un fragment d’image qui en attire d’autres. Le hasard fait souvent bien les choses, c’est régulièrement le verso d’une image qui trouvera sa place dans le collage finaL :
To make a collage, I often need constraints. This can be the format, a deadline, a theme, a response to a challenge (thanks PCC ). My starting point is usually an image or a fragment of an image that attracts others. Fate often does things well and regularly it's the back of an image that will find its place in the final collage.

En 2010, pour compléter ma formation initiale de designer, j’ai voulu me former au travail du bois. Je me suis alors rendue compte qu’il n’existait pas à Paris, de lieu permettant de mettre en commun outils, espace, savoir-faire…
Comme beaucoup d’entrepreneurs j’ai passé du temps à chercher un nom pour ce qui n’était encore qu’un projet. A cette période, je faisais un collage quotidien avec les gratuits distribués dans le métro. Le projet s’est précisé, la société actée mais je n’avais toujours pas de nom ! Je me lui suis alors lancé dans des plus grands collages dont un sur bois et c’est ainsi, en juxtaposant des images et des mots que le nom de l’Etablisienne est né. L’Établisienne a ouvert en 2011 et j’essaie de proposer de plus en plus d’activité autour du papier. En septembre 2024, s’y tiendra le 1er Collage Festival Paris.
About 15 years ago, to complete my initial training as a designer, I wanted to train in woodworking. I then realized that there was no place in Paris to share tools, space, know-how…
Like many entrepreneurs, I spent time looking for a name for what was still only a project. At that time, I made a daily collage with the free papers distributed in the subway.
The project became clearer, the company was signed, but I still didn’t have a name!
I then launched into larger collages, including one on wood, and it was thus, by juxtaposing images and words, that the name of the Établisienne was born.
L’Etablisienne opened in 2011 and I’m trying now to introduce more paper based workshops. In september 2024, the 1st Collage Festival Paris will take place at l’Etablisienne.
