ARTIST STATEMENT
My work delves into themes of fragility, trauma, and the concept of home within a multicultural context. Drawing inspiration from Viktor Shklovsky's concept of defamiliarization, I strive to reframe familiar experiences, making the ordinary feel new and strange. Working primarily with collage, I value the medium’s layered nature, blending minimalism with abstract and figurative elements to create thought-provoking works that challenge perception and invite reflection on identity and belonging.
