ARTIST STATEMENT
I am drawn to personal, family and community-driven stories. Creative writing and visual art offer means to (self)reflect, collect and share these narratives. I experiment with how to document and share true stories of all kinds. In collage, I incorporate found or family photos and other archival material with present-day material to explore tangible and intangible elements of place across temporal spaces. Thematically, I am interested in the ways in which both land and the body bear witness to and carry our joys, traumas and wisdom, our cultures, histories, and modes of being over time.
