Sandra Márquez is a visual artist specializing in photographic collage and surreal narrative:
I define myself as a contemporary visual artist. To create my collage pieces, I work with both digital and analogue processes, using a wide range of materials and surfaces. The thread running through all my images is surrealism. I love crafting a blend of reality and fiction that opens the door to imagined scenarios, where interpersonal relationships merge with nature and the universe — sometimes in a benevolent way, and other times with a touch of social critique.
In my work, symbolism, mythology, the ethereal, and the dream world are deeply connected and strongly represented. I have published artwork in editorial projects and cultural magazines, and I am currently developing series centered on the symbolic and the fantastic.
I am the founder of the publishing house Uve Books and editor of the cultural magazine Uve Magazine. I work in the field of design, especially print book design, and I have also published several books on art, botany, and history under the pseudonym Emain Juliana.
