Using collage as a creative medium, fascinated in exploring the unconscious, I try to unfold the inner mental structure, working around the composition of images being a witness of my repetitive patterns and the ways of creation.
My art is generated by playing with the colors and random cut forms from illustrations found in different printed media of mass circulation such as magazines, posters, museum catalogs, used books, and paper flyers. Therefore, by gathering, recycling, remaking; I try to portray the present moment, granting these images a new meaning.
Attracted to understanding the visual power of collage, I inquire directly on the narrative that has existed on the models of representation regarding women and archetypes, since the beginning of art until now.
Upbrought from an artistic background, during these past years, I have been fully focused on exploring the Collage technique. The interest in this medium arose when I started studying the unconscious. Ever since, I sought ways to portray the invisible, transforming the flow of imagination into tangible compositions. Have participated in individual and group exhibitions mainly in Chile and Italy. And my latest project, Tarot Virgi222, stems from a highly intuitive narration. The first part of this project was completed after two years of work in November 2021, reinterpreting the 22 major arcana tarot cards in large format analogue collage, designing the box, and an explanatory booklet.
Along with this project, I teach analogue collage through online and presential workshops, guiding students in their creative process.
