An autobiographical artist whose practice considers the realities of living and practicing as an artist with a long-term illness. Through her MA research she considers Susan Sontag’s conceptions of both the ‘kingdom of the well’ and the ‘kingdom of the sick’.
Angela considers how these kingdoms could appear visually and how to portray traversing through them. Her practice contains contrasting works, as she is both interested in minimalist and maximalist subject matters and colour palattes. There is a duplexity within her practice due to using both analogue and digital, producing both small- and large-scale works.
Her artworks always begin as analogue paper collages.
Chosen pieces are digitally manipulated and sublimation printed onto velour fabric, producing fabric art pieces.
