ARTIST STATEMENT
I have begun to experiment with analogue collage to explore ideas, moods and narratives. Creating visual stories from the randomness of found images, I can explore colour, form as well as varying perspectives. Piecing together images, sometimes text to build up layered compositions gives me a paradoxical sense of freedom within the constraints of collage as an art form.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Claire Delabre is a multidisciplinary creative whose work merges art, design and craft. She has a particularly strong interest in textiles, seeking to create a unique aesthetic that celebrate individuality and innovation.
With a deep-rooted passion for colour and aesthetic, Claire’s approach to art-making is defined by a constant exploration of new materials and visual forms of expression including collage. She is interested in deconstructing the assumptions of established narratives to engage and entice the viewer into newly constructed personal stories.
